Product Description
The Micro-MaTch contact concept is essentially different from other systems available. By its design, the traditional failure mode in tinplated connections, fretting corrosion, is prevented. The separation of the two basic functions of the contact system (contact force generation and wire termination), enables the optimization of both functions and leads to relatively simple contact shapes. High reliability is not only depending on its design, but also on the choice of copper with the optimal charateristics to ensure the working of the spring contact. In contrast with this, the Value-line is made from more cost effective materials which do not ensure the same performance, but behaving well in less demanding environments. The main advantage can be found in the price.
The Micro-MaTch contact helps prevent fretting corrosion, the traditional failure mode in tin-plated connections. Relative movements caused by vibrations/thermal expansion can be prevented so that a gas tight connection can make the Micro-MaTch contact spring system fretting corrosion resistant.

The TE Red Micro-MaTch Connector 1.27mm Pitch Crimp IDC Connector stands at the forefront of advanced micro-connector technology, designed to meet the needs of high-density electronic applications. This connector system features a meticulously engineered design that enhances reliability and performance, setting it apart from traditional connectors.
The Micro-MaTch contact concept addresses common issues in micro-connectors by effectively eliminating fretting corrosion, a frequent failure mode in tin-plated connections. By separating the functions of contact force generation and wire termination, this design ensures optimized performance and durability. The result is a connector that not only offers robust protection against fretting corrosion but also maintains high reliability through its innovative contact design.
Constructed with precision, the Micro-MaTch Connector is one of the smallest systems available, with a compact 1.27mm pitch that fits seamlessly into tight spaces. The connector is UL-recognized (File No. E28476, Vol. 23, Section 4), ensuring compliance with stringent safety and quality standards. The design incorporates a minimum contact force of 2.0N, which ensures a secure connection even in demanding environments.
An additional feature of the Micro-MaTch Connector is its fretting corrosion resistance, achieved through an extra positioning spring member that stabilizes the connection and minimizes the impact of relative movements due to vibrations or thermal expansion. The connector’s fully plated contacts prevent bare edges and avoid the migration of corrosion products, ensuring long-term reliability.
The Micro-MaTch Connector also benefits from fully protected polyester housings, providing enhanced durability and resistance to environmental factors, except for the side-entry female board connector. It is compatible with a full range of application tooling, from hand tools to fully automated equipment, facilitating easy integration into existing manufacturing processes.
Wire connectors are supplied on-tape, making them suitable for (semi-) automatic mass termination of 28 AWG ribbon cables, offering convenience and efficiency for large-scale applications.
In summary, the TE Red Micro-MaTch Connector 1.27mm Pitch Crimp IDC Connector delivers exceptional performance and reliability, thanks to its innovative design and advanced material choices. Its resistance to fretting corrosion, compact size, and compatibility with various tooling options make it an ideal solution for high-density, high-performance applications.
